How to Make Sushi at Home

  • 2 cups of sushi rice
  • 2 and 1/4 cups of water
  • 1/4 cup of rice vinegar

  • Nori seaweed sheets
  • Fresh sushi-grade fish (salmon, tuna, eel, etc.)
  • Wasabi paste
  • Soy sauce
  • Bamboo sushi mat

  1. Rinse the sushi rice in cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a pot, add the rice and water and bring it to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer for 20 minutes.

  8. Add a small amount of wasabi paste in the middle of the rice.
  9. Add a few slices of fish on top of the wasabi paste.
  10. Using the bamboo mat, roll the sushi tightly until the edges meet.
  11. Use a sharp knife to slice the sushi roll into bite-sized pieces.
  12. Serve the sushi with soy sauce and wasabi paste.
